1957: 4th National Surveying Teachers Conference

Washington State College - Camp Welch  Naches, Washington

August 4 to 9, 1957

Professor Elvin Ericson, General Conference Chair; Brother B. Austin Barry, Chair Program Committee.

The conference was attended by 54 delegates, and 34 family members accompanied them. A total of 22 formal papers on topics pertinent to surveying education were presented, and the delegates followed each with a discussion. Committee meetings and sessions devoted to preparing resolutions and reports completed the program. McNair (1974) distinguishes an interesting paper by Professor W. A. Heiskanen of Ohio State University on the challenging problems in geodesy that were developed as a result of World War II.
